Day 7 Checkin Shopping and Sunset

Sunday, September 21 Another early morning We had to wake up at 3pm to check out of the Hilton Garden to catch a 7:30 plane to Zimbabwe. When we got to the airport in search of breakfast we found a Hardee's that only had breakfast and an African style restaurant that offered more than we wanted. I asked for a sandwich with an egg instead of chicken. Instead we got an egg with bacon and toast. Perfect, Just what we wanted!

On the way out of the airport I bought a Cape buffalo T-shirt.  I have just fallen in love with the buffalo.

Customs border control was awful—A mass of people trying to get through. The officials took our passports and our gruoup was  directed  to sit in the car. It took an hour to complete, and was a bit scary to wait without passports.

We couldn’t check in until 3:00pm so we took the shuttle into town for lunch at the 3 Monkeys Cafe

The art shops were wonderful. The first one we went to was the best. When I entered a gal in the shop shouted, "My Ssista".  I found another buffalo that I loved—a teak sculpture. Melissa, my sista negotiated for a bit becoming great friends. I told her I needed to see the other shops before I purchased it. When we came back she rushed out to great me. I dont know which was better, my purchase or her excitement over the purchase. She insisted that we have our picture made and gave both Randy and I kisses. Her joy was wonderful.

After the shopping we returned to the InSika Hotel to check in. Our room was spectacular with a tub, sitting area and beautiful decor. We had no time to enjoy it as we had a sunset cruise at 4pm. Although I was running on little sleep, It was great. We had wine and a lite dinner and saw hippos and elephants. We got back to the hotel at around 7:30. Randy was surprised that I went straight to bed and slept through to the next morning.
